Seniors Services Society
is not a housing provider and is not able to guarantee that they
will be able to find the housing required. Seniors Services Society
provides information on housing options, this information is provided
to them by the housing providers. For more information contact
our office at 604-520-6621 or Email.
When you contact the Housing Program,
trained staff will ask a series of questions designed to help
in understanding your housing and services needs. All client interviews
are confidential and if you are phoning on behalf of a senior
we will ask if they are aware of the call to be sure that they
are involved directly in decision making.
Housing Counsellors will explain how
to apply for older adults housing and they will explain eligibility
requirements. For example:
• Your eligibility for rent geared
to income housing is usually based on your income.
• To access publicly funded residential
care you will require an assessment through your health unit.
Once the Housing Counsellor clearly
understands your needs, a package of information will be assembled
from the Seniors Housing Directory of BC and sent to you.
